This is a stable release which features mainly bug fixes and improvements upon the 2.2.x series of aMule.

Please see the Changelog for a list of all changes.

xx Preparations for 2.2.3
December 03, 2008, 09:36:22 PM by GonoszTopi
We're about to release 2.2.3 soon (not Soon™ but just plain soon). This will definiately happen after the planned server downtime. This time we won't do RC releases, instead provide tarballs and other info from the release branch directly.

You can find translation statistics and tarballs at http://amule.uw.hu/. Until otherwise stated, this site is the official location for both.

As you might got used to it last time, please post everything related to the upcoming release in the Prerelease board. Rules are also the same.

Have fun with it!

xx Server downtime
December 02, 2008, 09:44:26 PM by Kry
Due to a recent issue with the server's security (which didn't compromise any data, fortunately), we'll be forced to do some maintenance that could keep the server offline for up to a couple of days while everything is restored. It's not essential, as the breach and its consequences are known and patched, but I have always preferred to err on the caution side. Some serious forensics are in order, and chances of a full server wipeout and reinstall are pretty high.

There is currently no scheduled date for this (other than Soon™), but will happen pretty soon. So don't worry if you find this website gone for a couple of days, or with a maintenance message. Everything's fine and operation will be resumed.

Peace out.

xx New Windows installer
October 26, 2008, 11:51:02 PM by GonoszTopi
Due to recent reports that the windows installer possibly contains a virus, it has been updated. The new installer has a "-2" in its name, i.e. aMule-2.2.2-2-installer.exe. It is compiled and built on a Linux system from source with every library and tool it uses (even the compiler itself). So, as much as one can be sure of it, it does not contain any malicious code ( = virus or other malware).

It's also available on the ed2k network: ed2k://|file|aMule-2.2.2-2-installer.exe|8227940|41eb24effd568f666b7fe5034c8642ad|/

All (official) download locations have been updated and the old installer has been removed.

Have a nice aMule experience!
